Barn Raising 2009

Barn, Day 7

Yesterday was a rain day, so nothing happened. Today our builder had hoped to finish. He got quite close, but as you can see here about 15 minutes before quitting time there are just a few finishing touches to put on it. If the rain holds off a little more we should be able to move in this weekend! Even our fencing material came in yesterday, so we're ready for the real deal.

Look closely at the dirt pile in front of the barn. Can you guess what kind of animal makes those holes? Hint: its name starts with a 'J'!

I sure am glad we didn't try to do this during the reunion -- it's a much bigger job than I expected! Maybe with Luke overseeing and four or five of us working it might have gone a little faster, but I'm quite happy to just watch and let someone else do the work!

Barn raising has begun!

Sorry, all you eager family members who were hoping to work while on vacation -- our neighbor Mr. N. has beat you to it! It looks like all you'll be able to do at our family reunion is enjoy the finished product.
