Still snowing...

The horses have been mostly hiding in the shelter of the barn throughout the day, but late this afternoon ventured out to run around and dig for grass deep under the snow. They remind me of ostriches hiding their heads in the sand.

Walking out to the barn requires slogging through snow midway up my thighs (and higher on Jordan!).

A winter wonderland

The mark of great neighbors: dinner delivered by tractor, and a path cleared of snow from our front door to theirs -- while all other roads around us remain snowed over!

Wow! And all of this in warm Virginia, too! How idyllic can the week before Christmas get?? Well, Nate would say that you need a power outage of at least 24 hours for the frosting on the cake...Jordi, what a cool couple of days this has been for you. We love the photos showing how much fun you are having. See you soon!

We'll pass on the power outage -- we don't have any alternate sources of heat. If Nate wants to pitch in for a wood stove for Christmas we'll gladly take the power outage!
