Newfound freedom
Jessie has found new freedoms of motion she didn't know existed -- in her doorway bouncy! She's loving this new form of entertainment, and so are we. She's strengthening those legs with the goal to crawl in the next month or two. Right now, when on the ground, she'll scoot herself backwards with her hands, or forwards with her feet if she can find something to push against, but hasn't quite coordinated the two forms of locomotion just yet.

Olympics, here we come!
Yes, we're way out in the boonies, but thanks to a well placed horse jump, we're going to the Olympics! I got an antenna and a signal booster, and finally found just the right location in the yard where I get enough of a signal to be able to watch NBC. We're not interested in watching TV all the time so it doesn't make sense to get satellite (with a 2-year committment), but we really wanted to be able to join in the Olympics and it looks like this year we'll finally be able to. Are we rooting for the U.S., Austria or Canada?? Yes!!
Here's an evening shot of the antenna mounted on a horse jump pole, with the U.S. Figure Skating Championships reflected in the window.
Glutenful
Nearly every family in our homegroup has at least one person with gluten allergy or sensitivity, so our snacks tend to be gluten free. It's a great way to discover great tasting gluten-free recipes, but some of us long for the days of familiar tastes and consistencies. We added this gluten shaker to our snack table when we hosted homegroup this week.

Catching up on Jessie
Here's what we wish Jessie was doing now, because she's a little demanding this morning.
Jessie's fascinated by the camera whenever it comes out and will stop whatever it was she was doing that we wanted to get a picture of!
A rare occasion when Jessie and Annie meet.

From the Netbook
It's been a while since I've posted anything new here -- it continues to amaze me how long it takes to spend two minutes updating a blog! It doesn't seem like much until you have to carve the time out to do it. Anyway, here I am, and since I'm on our new Samsung N130 netbook I have no new photos at my disposal to upload, but here are some from the archives.
And here's our latest little electronic toy we're test-driving (Mom, this is the kind of computer you thought you might be interested in -- we'll let you know what we think after using it a while):

Quoting Jordan
Here's a homework page Jordan brought home this week, with some answers I thought would be fun to share. I've typed my favorites in here:
1. Who are some of your ancestors? Where did they live?
Answer: Noah. He lived around the mountains of Ararat.
2. What could someone do to honor his or her parents or family members?
Answer: To visit my grandparents.
3. What is something you have learned by imitating another person?
Answer: By imitating my mom in the citchen I learned to work hard.
